CHARTERED FINANCIAL ANALYST (CFA®)

Why hire a CFA® CHARTERHOLDER to manage your wealth? Advanced investment knowledge! Achieving the CFA® designation requires intense study and a dedication to putting clients’ needs above one’s own. CFA CHARTERHOLDERS hold themselves to an uncompromising standard of ethics and are required to undertake an annual attestation of conduct. Candidates study nearly 1,000 hours on average in the journey to passing all three levels of the CFA Program. Fewer than 1 in 5 candidates successfully complete all three levels of the CFA Program. CFA® CHARTERHOLDERS have a strong foundation of investment knowledge, built by years of study and real-world experience. By passing the multidisciplinary CFA® Program, CFA CHARTERHOLDERS have proven themselves to possess the commitment, knowledge, and ability to measure up to the complexity of your financial life.

Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®)

Advanced financial planning for every person and every need: that is the credo of the Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®) designation program. ChFC® covers a must-have list of requirements for financial advisors, from knowledge on tax and retirement planning to special needs advising, wealth management, insurance, and more.

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®)

CFP® CERTIFICATION: THE STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE. Bringing all the pieces of your financial life together is a challenging task. Today more than ever, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals are an essential resource. Although many professionals may call themselves “financial planners,” CFP® professionals have completed extensive training and experience requirements and are held to rigorous ethical standards. They understand the complexities of the changing financial climate and know how to make recommendations in your best interest.

Certified Public Accountant (CPA®)

Certified Public Accountant (CPA®) is a title awarded in the United States to accountants who meet stringent professional qualifications. State authorities confer the title on those who satisfy the experience requirement of the particular state and those who pass the Uniform CPA Examination administered by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The objective of the examination is to provide reasonable assurance to Boards of Accountancy that candidates passing the examination possess the level of technical knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to protect the public interest. CPAs must maintain a certain amount of professionally logged hours per the state within which they are certified.

INVESTMENT ADVISOR REPRESENTATIVE (IAR)

An Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) works for investment advisory companies whose main responsibility is to provide investment-related advice. According to regulations, IARs can only provide advice on topics about which they have passed the appropriate examinations. In addition to passing the appropriate exams and continuing education required to maintain their securities registrations, IARs also must be registered with the proper state authorities. In order to expand their knowledge of financial products and principles, many IARs hold either the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation.

Personal Financial Specialist (PFS)

Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) is a designation granted to CPAs only after demonstrating experience in personal financial planning services and meeting other accreditation requirements established by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA). PFS credential holders have specific experience, education and examination requirements that set them apart from other CPAs and financial planners.
